Ria Money Transfer and Atlético de Madrid Launch “Dreamers” Campaign

If you ask Wizarchy what’s the one item he’d take with him to a deserted island, he’d probably say his pair of scissors. For the Dominican Republic native, cutting hair is an art, especially when it helps you support your family.

Wizarchy left for Madrid many years ago hoping to open his own barbershop. Day after day, he worked hard to make a living for himself and for his family back home. But beginnings aren’t easy, and being far from those you love takes its toll. There were times when Wizarchy thought about throwing in the towel, but he persevered.

And it was certainly worth it.

One day, life granted him an unbelievable opportunity: an Atlético de Madrid player walked right into his shop and asked for a haircut. Soon after, his shop was overflowing with customers, including many more Atleti players.

This incredible story deserved a spotlight, so we teamed up with Atlético de Madrid to create the “Dreamers” video campaign. This series of videos encapsulates both Atleti’s motto, “believe and succeed” and Ria’s own philosophy: that we can create a world in which people are empowered to build the life they dream of, no matter who they are or where they are.

Wizarchy, the star of our first video, believes that “if you have faith and work hard, you can do it.” And he’s totally right. While the Atlético de Madrid team might not always walk right into your shop, Wizarchy’s story still serves as confirmation that good things happen to those who wait (and work hard while they’re at it).

We’re also excited to announce that we have extended our sponsorship deal with Atlético de Madrid until 2024. That means we’ll have even more time to tell amazing stories like Wizarchy’s.
